An Introduction to Horticulture Therapy
Horticulture Therapy uses gardening, plant care, and nature‑based activities to support emotional, physical, and social well‑being. At GCP, we believe that connecting with the natural world can restore balance, reduce stress, and strengthen community bonds. Our horticulture therapy programs invite participants of all ages and abilities to experience the calming, empowering benefits of working with plants. In 2025 we initiated the task of making the garden ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible to support our seniors, and the disabled community. |

Through guided activities such as planting, watering, harvesting, and sensory exploration participants build confidence, improve motor skills, and develop a deeper sense of purpose. More importantly, they discover a peaceful space where growth happens both in the garden and within themselves. Our therapy garden is designed to be welcoming, accessible, and nurturing. Whether someone is seeking relaxation, emotional support, or simply a moment of quiet connection, our horticulture therapy program offers a meaningful pathway to healing and personal growth. |
